PERFORMANCE REPORT™
This performance report was prepared for the diagnosing
of and preventing problems that cause you to experience low performance
or baghouse failure.
We also offer a more in-depth DETAIL-PERFORMANCE REPORT
which requires input from the customer. (This helps in pin-pointing the
problem.)
The following performance report is normally done on all
of the bags that you have sent in. This report covers all conventional
baghouse and processing collector. All bags that are returned to you have
been tested and are 100% reconditioned (unless stated otherwise). If a
bag has failed we will correct the damaged area free of charge for minor
repairs. If the bag is not repairable we will reject the bag.
GLOSSARY OF TERMS
- BAFFLES
A device consisting of a plate or a series of plates which evenly distributes
airflow and dust within a dust collector, to protect filter bags from
direct impingement of dust which will damage bag filters.
- BLEED-THROUGH
Particulate migration through the bag filter fabric.
- BLINDING
Fabric blockage by dust or fume, or liquid not being discharged by the
cleaning mechanism, resulting in an increased pressure drop across the
media and decreased air flow.
- BLOWPIPE
Used to direct the air down through the venturi during cleaning and
should always be considered an integral component when troubleshooting
a baghouse. Blowpipe misalignment and deterioration due to improper
holes alignment and ineffective mounting, always look for plugged or
partially plugged holes.
- CUSTOMER INPUT
The more input from our customer the more beneficial the reports will
be.
- DETAIL PERFORMANCE REPORT
This report is to help pinpoint problems or low performance in your
baghouse. This requires input from our customers before the bags are
taken out of the baghouse. You will need to fill out a bag failure chart
as you are changing out the bags and answer some questions.
- DUST CAKE
Desired dust buildup on the fabric to filter incoming gases and keep
particulate on fabric surface.
- FAILURE
If the bags have failed our testing, the bags were not performing to
new bag specifications.
- GRAIN LOADING
The amount of particulate by weight in a given volume of air.
- PERFORMANCE REPORT
This report will give an overview of problems or low performance in
your baghouse. For a more detailed analysis see DETAIL PERFORMANCE REPORT.
- REJECTS
The bag is not to be put in the baghouse and the bags will be disposed
of at our facility. * If rejects exceed 50% of the entire order there
will be a charge for the handling of the disposal.
- STEREOPTIC VIDEO ANALYZER
Frisbie's Filter Service, Inc. lab testing machine which can perform
over 100 performance tests on your baghouse system.
- TECHNICAL DATA REPORT
Our report tells the condition of bag filters. According to O.E.M. specifications.
This insures you that reconditioned bags will perform just like new.
This report has already been done on your bags as a standard procedure
here at Frisbie's Filter Service, Inc.
- WEIGHT DIFFERENTIAL
The amount of grain-loading on the surface of the fabric at any given
time.

AREA 2. BAG FAILURE DUE TO OUTSIDE SOURCE
2A. SUBSTANCE & MATTER ENVIRONMENTAL FAILURE - 194 failed
2B. STRUCTURAL FAILURE - none failed
PROBLEM AREA
COMMON OCCURRENCE (HIGH RESTRICTIONS) (DAMAGED BAGS) (LEAKAGE) SUBSTANCE,
MATTER, ENVIRONMENTAL AND STRUCTURE TESTING. THIS TEST DEALS WITH OBJECTS
AND THE STRUCTURE THAT DESTROY AND GIVE YOU UNNECESSARY WEAR ON YOUR BAGS.
THESE DAMAGE BAG FILTERS FROM THE OUT SIDE OF YOUR BAGS. THIS IS DIRT
SIDE OF THE BAGHOUSE. THIS WILL NORMALLY MAKE UP 50% OF THE FAILURES WE
SEE AND TEST FOR, SUBSTANCE & MATTER TEST WE PERFORM ARE THERMAL,
MOISTURE, GRAIN LOADING, WEIGHT DIFFERENTIAL, CHEMICAL, AIRFLOW, DUST-CAKE
AND GASES. STRUCTURE FAILURE INDICATES HOUSING PROBLEMS, DEFECTIVE PARTS
AND TUBE SHEETS THAT ARE WEARING OUT YOUR BAGS.
SOLUTION
FOR SUBSTANCE, MATTER, ENVIRONMENTAL AND STRUCTURE FAILURE, CHECK FOR
THESE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS:
EXCESSIVE HEAT IN BAGHOUSE, MOISTURE ENTERING BAGHOUSE, PRODUCT FILLING
HOPPER, BROKEN AUGER SYSTEM, PRODUCT ENTER BAGHOUSE AND HITTING THE BAGS
DIRECTLY, CHEMICAL ENTERING BAGHOUSE, AIRFLOW SUCH AS BLOWER PIPE FAILURE.
WORN OR NO BAFFLES AND EXCESSIVE GASES IN AIR STREAM, HIGH ALSO FOR GRAIN
LOADING STRUCTURE CHECK FOR RUSTED TUBE SHEETS, DEFECTIVE PARTS, AND PIPING
THAT HAS BROKEN OR LOST HOUSING PARTS.
RESULTS
THE PAY OFF CAN BE VERY LARGE, IF YOU TAKE TIME TO SOLVE THESE SORT OF
FAILURES; STRUCTURAL, SUBSTANCE AND MATTER. ALSO IN SOME CASES WE HAVE
FOUND THAT SWITCHING THE TYPES OF BAGS YOU ARE USING OR GOING TO A DIFFERENT
FINISH ON YOUR BAGS CAN REDUCE SOME EFFECTS ON YOUR BAGS. IN ORDER FOR
US TO HELP ISOLATE THE EXACT CAUSES OF THE PROBLEM WE WILL NEED TO PERFORM
A DETAILED PERFORMANCE REPORT. TO HELP US WITH THIS REPORT WE WILL NEED
MORE INPUT FROM YOU. FRISBIE'S FILTERS LAB CAN PERFORM THIS TEST FOR YOU
AT NO CHARGE.
AREA 5. FAILURE ON REMOVAL
5A. DEGRADATION FAILURE - 1 FAILED
5B. ENGINEERED FAILURE
5C. SUBSTANCE, MATTER, ENVIRONMENTAL
PROBLEM AREA - COMMON OCCURRENCE (REMOVAL FAILURE)
DAMAGES DURING REMOVAL WILL INCREASE YOUR BAG FILTER COST AND MAY DAMAGE
CAGES. IF THE BAGS ARE DAMAGED TOO BAD, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECONDITION
THEM AND THEY WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IF YOUR PERSONNEL ARE DAMAGING
BAGS ON REMOVAL, THEY COULD ALSO BE DAMAGING THEM ON INSTALLATION. THIS
IS NORMALLY A TRAINING PROBLEM, BUT NOT IN ALL CASES. THERE MAY UNDERLINING
PROBLEMS WHY YOUR BAGS ARE NOT COMING OFF; THERMAL FAILURE, ENGINEERED
FAILURE, WORN OUT PARTS, ETC.
SOLUTION
TRAINING YOUR PEOPLE ON THE REMOVAL OF BAG FILTERS. PROBING INTO WHY THEY
DID NOT COME OFF YOUR BAGHOUSE PROPERLY. FIXING OR FINDING OUT WHY COULD
INCREASE YOUR OVERALL PERFORMANCE AND SAVE YOU MONEY IN THE LONG RUN.
RESULTS
WHEN BAGS WILL NOT COME OFF YOUR CAGES OR OUT OF YOUR BAGHOUSE PROPERLY
OR IN A TIMELY MANNER, THIS WILL GREATLY INCREASE YOUR LABOR COST. WE
STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE THE TIME TO SEE WHY THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING.
WE CAN HELP YOU DO THAT, WITH OUR PERFORMANCE REPORT, PREFORMING TEST
AND OUR STEREOPTIC VIDEO ANALYZER
