·      INITIAL INSPECTION

All components, including internal paper elements on the cartridge filter are individually inspected prior to cleaning. Also noted is any physical damage of the unit including dented end caps.

·      IDENTIFICATION

All cartridge filters are marked to monitor future cleaning cycles. In addition, we can clean filter cartridges from dust collectors, air compressors, blowers and generators. Not sure we can clean your filter cartridge. Send a picture to kffrisbie@msn.com and we will confirm that we can clean your filter cartridge.

·      CLEANING

Filter cartridges are soaked four to eight hours prior to beginning the automated cleaning. Computer automated washing and rinsing equipment provides accurate removal of carbon, dust, detergent and other foreign particles. FrisbieFilter provides external flushing in addition to a reverse flushing process using high volume (in excess of 14 gallon/minute) with low pressure cleaning of paper pleats. This is the best way to clean cartridge filters versus our competitor’s hand cleaning method.

·      DRYING

Cartridge filters are completely dried internally and externally by electronically controlled air temperatures after cleaning.

·      FINAL INSPECTION

We subject all clean cartridge filters to a calibrated vacuum which tests the integrity of internal paper elements including the industries standardized testing by candling and weighing the cartridge filter. Light and water are used in the inspection process as well.  An inspection booth, similar to a dark room, uses light to confirm if there are holes in the paper filter that would impede the clean cartridge filter from filtrating as a new filter would. The clean filter cartridge is placed on a metal frame with a light bulb inserted inside the cartridge while moving the light up and down. If there are holes in the pleats, then light will shine through. All these tests will give you assurance that your clean cartridge filter will have maximum performance.

·       QUALITY CONTROL

Each clean filter cartridge is individually inspected. All cleaning solutions are PH balanced, specifically formulated, and approved by filter and equipment manufacturers for filter cartridge cleaning.

Most filters can be cleaned. In recent years there have been multiple variations and coatings, such as Teflon and PTFE membrane, which is applied to the filter material. This allows cake release or resistance to moisture or oil. All of the above filter materials are good candidates for cleaning.

Filters made of cotton are almost obsolete. They have been replaced by woven polyesters. Cotton filters have a tendency to shrink in the cleaning process. We recommend you replace your cotton filters with polyester filters.

AMOUNT OF RE-USES BEFORE REPLACEMENT

Depending on the product used in the filtration process and the type of material the filter is made of determines the amount of times a filter bag or filter cartridge can be cleaned. Because of our vast experience in the filter service industry we have an approximate guideline to help you determine how many times your filters can be cleaned. Most polyester filter bags can be cleaned between 12-24 times. Nomex filter bags used in asphalt plants can be cleaned 3-6 times. Paper filter cartridges can withstand 3-6 cleanings, while spun bond filter cartridges can be cleaned 12-24 times. So, you can see it makes sense to use a filter cleaning service to clean your filters to extend their life. Some filter bags and cartridges, if cleaned regularly, will last 10-20 years. Now, that is worth the savings!!
